Larry Cook, age 69, passed on April 1, 2020 at Houston Medical Center, Warner Robins, Georgia.

Memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 11, 2020, Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel Inc, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Larry Cook was born in Americus, Georgia on July 20, 1950 to late Willie Cook Sr. and the late Emma Finch. He was preceded in death by his brother Willie Cooks Jr. He was educated through the public school system of Sumter County. 

He is survived by his wife Madeline Jackson Cook; children, Curtis Cook, Sharon Cook, “Short Man” Cook, a host of grandchildren; siblings Annette Westbrook, Lester Cook, Rosa Cooper, Edward Cook; a host of nieces nephews and other relatives. 

​Mrs. Hassie Lee Pierce, age 80, 1708 Armory Drive, Americus, Georgia passed Sunday, April 5, 2020.

Memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, April 10, 2020 at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Mrs. Pierce was born October 6, 1939 to the late Willie Clyde Hudson and the late Gussie Mae Hayes in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia. She was educated in the public school system of Sumter County, Georgia.

She was married to Mr. James Lee Pierce and to this union they were blessed with four children. One daughter, Patricia Pierce Spencer, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Pierce was a very talented person and served in every way she was needed. She was a day care nurse and a homemaker.

Survivors include a loving and devoted husband, Mr. James Lee Pierce, Sr. Americus, Georgia; three children Mrs. Brenda Pierce Carter (Minister Roland Carter) New Jersey, James Pierce Jr. (Wanda) and Andre Pierce, both of Americus, Georgia; two sisters, Mattie Pearl McCoy (Clyde), Pennsylvania and Charlie Mae Hill, Americus, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Nathaniel Carter, Christopher Carter, James Pierce III, Amona Pierce, Shalona Carter, Sharey Carter and Roland Carter; two great grandchildren, A’Nyla and Roland III; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

​Amye Carson, age 76, passed on April 6, 2020 at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 10, 2020 at Champ Water Cemetery, 191 Twin Church Road , Montezuma, Georgia.

Amye was born February 22, 1944 to the late Albert Colbert and Sudie Bell Colbert. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County, Georgia where she attended the historic D.F. Douglass High School. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the New Baptist Church in Garden Valley and later moved her membership to First Salem Baptist Church. She was married to the late Clyde Carson and two children were born to this union. One son, Adam Clyde Carson, and one brother, Jonus Colbert, preceded her in death. Over the years Amye was employed with Macon County School System working at D.F. Douglass High School and Montezuma Healthcare. After years of dedicated services retired as a dietician from Macon County Headstart Program. She enjoyed during crossword puzzles and sewing. 

She is survived by one daughter, Christine McDonald, Montezuma, Ga; six grandchildren, Benecia McDonald, Ben Jamal McDonald, Adam Carson, Justin Carson, Demarcus Slocomb, Alisha Slocomb and one great grandchild, Jamiya Cochran; sisters Lizzie Inez Wells, Atlanta, Hazel Fuller, Roberta, Ga; sisters-in-law, Joyce Carson, Montezuma, Ga, who was also her caretaker, Lillie Manson, Hartford, CT, Clara Montford, Atlanta, Ga, Loretha Brady (Ronnie), Smyrna, Ga , and Lizzie Colbert, Montezuma, Ga; aunts, Mattie Will Gouch, Atlanta, Ga, Lougia Henderson, Riverdale, Ga; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. 

​Jimmie Fulks, age 61, passed on April 4, 2020 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Hospital, Columbus, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Friendship Cemetery, GA Hwy 30 – Friendship Community, Sumter County, Georgia.

Jimmie Fulks was born February 20, 1959 to Verdie Fulks and the late Walter Black. He was a 1977 graduate of the historic Tri-County High School, Drainville Community of Marion County. Jimmie acquired his degree in Carpentry from South Georgia Technical College of Americus, Georgia. He later acquired his second degree in drafting and blue printing. He joined the Tabernacle of Faith Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop James Lundy.

He was united in holy matrimony to the former Sandra Jackson January 12, 1995. He was blessed to be the father of two children.

We see God’s work more clearly, when we’re still than when we try to force our human will. On Saturday morning, April 4, 2020 the spirit of the Lord showed compassion and relieved Jimmie from all pain and worry. Sleep on beloved and take thy rest, the act of God we do not question for he along knows best.

He leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to his beloved family which include: a beloved wife of twenty five years, Sandra Jackson Fulks, Ellaville, Georgia; two children, Syneetra Barkley and Jackson Chandler Fulks; grandchildren, Ariyana Jackson and Zaziyon Barkley; mother, Verdie Fulks, Ellaville, Georgia; five siblings, Ernestine Dudley (Robert) Ellaville, Georgia, Joe Ann Fulks, Waldolph, Maryland, Michael Fulks (Dianne), Buena Vista, Georgia, Orbie Fulks, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Lettie Fulks Plant (Jeffery), Kathlene, Georgia; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pinky Jackson, Lousie Jackson Minter (Willie), Pearlie Jackson (Horace), Lois Jackson, Edna Jackson, Marchelle Jackson Wright, Gail Jackson Rembert (William), Carolyn Jackson Hawkins (Kelvin), Verine Jackson, Veris Jackson, and Mary Mines; Three aunts, Martha Black, Mary Alice Miller, Christine Mitchell; uncles Willie James Fulks (Essie), and Bobby Fulks (Aretta); and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

​Dianne Frazier Hart, age 71, passed away on April 2, 2020 at The Medical Center, Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia.

Memorial service will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 11, 2020 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Zion Road, Ellaville, Georgia

Dianne was born in Schley County, Georgia on January 5, 1949, to the late Ella Mae Frazier Baker and Jimmy Clark. She was educated in the public-school system of Schley County, Georgia.

On Thursday, April 2, 2020, the Lord called her home. She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Clark, and her husband Windell Clark and Largent Hart, two siblings: Shirley Wade and Andrew Baker.

Dianne was employed as a seamstress at Manhattan Shirt Company in Americus, Georgia until she retired. Dianne accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age where she was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist church in Ellaville, Georgia until moving her membership to Shipp Chapel in Americus, Georgia. She was a faithful member of Shipp Chapel where she served until her health declined. Dianne was a devoted sister, friend, aunt, church member, mother and grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally and she loved the Lord. Her grandchildren and children were her pride and joy.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Her loving devoted children; Henry Clark (Diana) of Americus, Georgia; two daughters; Janice Clark of Columbus, Georgia, Bridget Taylor (Daryl) of Oglethorpe, Georgia; four sisters: Willie Jean Perry of Ocilla, Georgia, Brenda Baker Stewart of Belle Glade, Florida, Katrina Richardson of Albany, Georgia, Vanessa Richardson of Belle Glade, Florida; two brothers; J.C. Richardson of Belle Glade, Florida, Leroy Richardson of Americus, Georgia; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Nathaniel Clay Jr., age 56, passed on April 1, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc., 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Nathaniel Clay Jr. was born June 22, 1963 in Dawson, Terrell County, Georgia to Eddie Small Sr. and the late Louise Lowe. He was preceded in death by his brother Eddie Small Jr. He was a 1981 graduate of Terrell County High School. He was follower of the United Holiness Church Headquarters under the guidance of the late founder, Aaron Snipes, Overseer. He was married to Cassandra Denise Hannor Clay to this union they were blessed with three children. He farmed with various farms throughout the Macon, Sumter, and Terrell Counties. He also drove tractor trailers for various companies. Nathaniel enjoyed various sports including football and basketball.

He is survived by his wife Cassandra Clay, Montezuma, Georgia; children, Courtney Lawade Hannor (Arnetia), Florida, Kasey Lawrence Hannor, Japan, and Chelsey Amber Clay, Montezuma, Georgia; three grandchildren Jeremiah Hannor, Azaria Hannor, Tyler Hannor; father Eddie Small, Dawson, Georgia; siblings Jerry Lee Lowe, Dorothy Burke; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
