The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, April 6, 2012 at New Hope Baptist Church, Georgia Highway 26 East, Montezuma, Georgia. Interment will follow in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery, 2095 Butler’s Mill Road, Reynolds, Georgia. The Reverend Matthew Raines, pastor of White Hill Baptist Church, will officiate.
Willie L. was born September 15, 1957 to Mr. W.L. Walters and the late Lula Mae Hart Walters. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County. He joined White Hill Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board Ministry. Willie L. was employed with Allen Canning Plant formerly Southern Frozen foods, Inc., for 35 years as a machine operator.
He leaves a legacy of golden memories to his beloved wife, of 17 years, Shirley Walters, Reynolds, Georgia; his father, W.L. Walters, Montezuma, Georgia; eight children, LaShonda Walters, Quenton Walters and Clinton Walters all of Montezuma, Georgia, Sheena Walters, Warner Robins, Georgia and Willie L. Walters, Jr., Montezuma, Georgia, Tracy Rogers, Travis (Naktia) Lockett and Antwan (Melody), Lockett all of Fort Valley, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; seven siblings and their spouses, Ernestine (Rev. Johnny) Sanders, Andersonville, Georgia, Alice (Frederick) Jackson, Montezuma, Georgia, Mary Frances (Morris) Engram, Detroit, Michigan, Foster (Shonda) Walters, Warner Robins, Georgia, Lester (Louise) Walters, J. W. (Linda) and Johnny (Helen) Walters all of Montezuma, Georgia; five aunts, Shirley (Minister Amos) Whitehead, Montezuma, Georgia, Eva Arnold, Cleveland, Ohio, Lizzie Walters, Lucile Cook, and Quida Walters all of Atlanta, Georgia; five uncles, Ruben (Lula Mae) Hart, Junction City, Georgia, Eddie (Fannie Bell) Hart, Ideal, Georgia, L. C. (Frances) Walters, R. L. (Doris) Walters, W. H.
