The memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Rocky Hill Primitive Baptist Church, 3498 Concord Road, Ellaville, Georgia.

Garey McCants, 65, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on February 10, 2026.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Corinth Baptist Church, 1610 Highway 127 West, Reynolds, Georgia. Burial will follow at the Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, Georgia.

Garey McCants was born in Macon County, Georgia to the late Mr. Arthur and Mrs. Grace McCants. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired as a United States Postal Service employee (2023).

He was known for his sense of humor and love for the Dallas Cowboys and famous for saying, “Let me hold something.”

He was preceded in death by sisters, Corine Riley, Fannie Mahone, and Deborah Davis, and brother, Johnny Montford.

He is survived by his children, Chantel, DeAngelo, and Natia McCants; grandchildren, Aniyah, Autumn, Khalea, and Solomon; siblings, Donna (Willie) Waymon, Author Lee Purifory, A.C McCants, Lee (Patricia) McCants, David (Linda) McCants, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
