Annie Joyce Tookes, age 61, passed on June 1, 2023.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Annie Joyce Tookes was born in Macon County, Georgia on September 3, 1961, to Joyce Tookes Raines and the late Retired Sgt. Major James A. Norman Sr. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Ellie Mae Raines and Phil Raines. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County and was a 1979 graduate of Macon County High where she ran track. Following high school she attended Fort Valley State University. Annie worked various jobs including the Gwinnett County School System as a Dietician. Annie loved cooking and watching TV.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her two children Beyanka Tookes, Joshua Tookes both Lawrenceville, GA; one granddaughter Cassidy Nevaeh Johnson, Lawrenceville, GA; a mother, Joyce Raines, Oglethorpe, GA; siblings Tommy Raines (Tangie), Alford, FL, Evelyn Cook, Macon, GA, Willie Mae Holt (Michael), Lizella, GA, Mary Brown (Toby Pryor), Fort Valley, GA, James A. Norman Jr., Tracy Norman, Carlyle Norman; Aunts/uncles Mary Nell Tookes, Ideal, GA, Annie Pearl Archie (Charles), Junction City, KS, Claudia Regeida Norman and Beverly Shelton (Lamar) all of Ellaville, GA; a host of nieces , nephews, cousins and friends including a devoted cousin Phyllis Marie Martin (Brad) and their daughter Chloe.
