A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at First Salem Baptist Church, located at 191 Twin Churches Road, Montezuma, Georgia. Interment will follow at Champ Waters Cemetery.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such a high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Annie was born on July 3, 1939, to the late Earlene Rackley Collier and the late Eddie Collier, Sr. She received her education through the Macon County public school system. Annie was joined in holy matrimony to the late Monroe Freeman. She had a deep love for her family and found joy in cooking and spending quality time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Monroe Freeman; her parents, Earlene Rackley Collier and Eddie Collier, Sr.; two children, Jacqueline Collier and Jerome Miller; and eight siblings: Eddie Jr., Mary, L.J., Emma, Lillian, Jessie, Joanne, and Beulah.
Her legacy lives on through her devoted children: Dorothy Collier, Edward Collier, Willie Collier, Darrow (Tammy) Collier, and Christopher (Jadonna) Freeman; thirty-three grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Katie Driver; and her loving siblings, Barbara Clark and Willie Collier, both of Montezuma, GA, and Troy Collier of West Palm Beach, FL.
She is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Louise Hubbard Collier of Warner Robins, GA, Dorothy Freeman and Queen Clayton, both of Montezuma, GA; brothers-in-law: Fletcher Freeman of Montezuma, GA, Ralph Freeman of Belle Glade, FL, and Joseph Freeman of Perry, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Among them are her cherished nieces: Diane Joiner, Brianna Joiner, Mykia Harris, Janet Johnson, and Tammi Collier Lumpkin, whom she held especially close to her heart.
Annie’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
