The funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Zion Hope Baptist Church, 1681 US Hwy 19 South, Americus, Georgia. Reverend George Monts, Jr. is pastor. Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery, Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia.
Aldine Hartage was born in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Ernest Hartage and Lizzie Snow Hamilton Hartage. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Emma Lee Davenport, Alfonia Hartage, and a grandson Quentin Lamarr Wilson, Jr. He was educated in public school system of Sumter County. He worked for the Sumter County Board of Education in the Maintenance Department. He also was employed with the Norton Company in Memphis, Tennessee as a stocker.
Aldine was joined in holy matrimony to Emma Lue Smith Hartage and to this union they were blessed with one daughter. At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savoir and joined the band of Christian believers at the Zion Hope Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife of 45 years Emma Lue Hartage, Leslie, Georgia; one daughter Tamika Hartage, five grandchildren, Marvin Tyrell Johnson, Jr., A’Casia LaShae Hartage, Makayla Sharice Hartage, Jayden Lamarr Hartage, and Haley Quentavia Hartage, all of Leslie, Georgia; one sister, Ruby Jean Hodges, Americus, Georgia; and a host of nieces, including one devoted niece, Lizzie Mae Hodges, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
