The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 3, 2015 at the First Salem Baptist Church, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia. The Reverend Jeffrey Randle, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Champ Waters Cemetery, Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.
Mr. Willie Frank Wilborn, Sr. was born June 16, 1944 in Orange County, Florida to the late Charlie Frank Wilborn and Ethel Bullard Jackson. He was educated in the public school system of Orange County, Florida. He was married to the former Leslie Rackley Thornton. He was blessed to be the father of four children and two stepchildren. Two brothers, William Jackson and Ulysses Ivory, preceded him in death. He was a member of First Salem Baptist Church. After twenty-five dedicated years of service, he retired from Georgia Forest in 1999 as a large machine operator.
He leaves a legacy of many fond memories to his beloved wife of twenty-five years, Leslie Rackley Wilborn, Montezuma, Georgia; six children, Edgar Burris, Florida, Samuel McKenzie (Gwen), South Bay, Florida, Willie Frank Wilborn, Jr. (Ann), Warner Robins, Georgia, Wachovia Wilborn Thornton (Mack), Killeen, Texas, Celicia Thornton (David), Union City, Georgia, and Rickey Thornton, Jr. (Jade), College Park, Georgia; two brothers, Franklin Wilborn, Ohio and A. B. Burch, South Bay, Florida; two sisters, Charlie Mae Wilborn, Ohio and Arlessa Wilborn, West Palm Beach, Florida; mother-in-law, Carrie Rackley, Montezuma, Georgia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth Turner, Atlanta Georgia, Leonard Rackley (Lounell), Montezuma, Georgia, Cecelia Marshall (Emmitt), Stockbridge, Georgia, Lula Rackley (Chris), Atlanta, Georgia, J.B. Rackley, Montezuma, Georgia, Zebbie Dell Rackley, Union City, Georgia, Curtis Rackley and Donald Harris, both of Montezuma, Georgia, Judy Gable, Oglethorpe, Georgia, and Philistine Gardner, Marietta, Georgia; a host of beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, including two devoted nieces, Yvonne Terry and Charlene Moore, and two devoted nephews, Jerome Wilborn and Terry Moore; a host of other relative and friends, including devoted friends, K.C. Cochran, Tommy Taylor, Hubert West, John Moore, and Peter.
