The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday afternoon, May 15, 2013 at the Corinth Baptist Church, Georgia Highway 127, Garden Valley, Georgia, where the Reverend Governor Gibson is pastor. The Reverend Lee Ernest McCants will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery, Brooks Mill Road, Rupert, Macon County, Georgia.
Fannie was born August 1, 1957 in Reynolds, Taylor County, Georgia to the late Arthur McCants and the late Grace Mathis McCants. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County. She was a 1976 graduate of D. F. Douglass High School. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the band of Christian Believers at the Corinth Baptist Church in Garden Valley, Georgia.
Fannie was joined in Holy Matrimony to Kenneth Mahone on July 30, 1983, and to this union, they were blessed with three children, Shunetha, Kenneth, Jr., and Rashad.
Fannie spent her adult life serving the Lord and providing for her family. She enjoyed visiting family and friends. Fannie was an excellent daughter, sister, wife, mother, and a friend. Fannie was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
Fannie leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Kenneth Mahone, Ideal, Georgia; her children, Shunetha McCants, Montezuma, Georgia, Kenneth Mahone Jr., and Rashad Mahone, both of Warner Robins, Georgia; one granddaughter, Aazha Fanae’ McDonald; one sister, Donna (Rev. W. R.) Waymon, Atlanta, Georgia; five brothers, Arthur Curtis McCants, Rev. Lee Ernest (Patricia) McCants, David (Linda) McCants, all of Warner Robins, Georgia, Garey McCants, Marietta, Georgia and Arthur Lee Purifory, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two sisters-in-law, Mary Neil Ferguson, Warner Robins, Georgia and Zelma (George) Williamson, Ideal, Georgia; two brothers-in-law, Carey (Easter) Mahone, Oglethorpe, Georgia and Lester Mahone, Atlanta, Georgia; one aunt, Maria (Martin) Nelson, Ideal, Georgia; one uncle, Paul (Brenda) Smith, Atlanta, Georgia; devoted friends, Emily McKenzie, Atlanta, Georgia, Elizabeth Hill, Ideal, Georgia, Jacqueline Roberts, Montezuma, Georgia, Mary Nell Kendrick, Ideal, Georgia, and Pamela Cromer, Ideal, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
